I have had a chance to personally test out the EyeSea Sport in the cold, limited visibility waters of Orchard Lake here in my home area - the state of Michigan. From 500 feet out I swam directly to the EyeSea transmitter in 2' visibility. Literally all I could see was my dive computer and the EyeSea wrist receiver. I did it three times just to make sure I
wasn't crazy …..Each time it would read down to 3'... I would look up ... and yes right in front of me was the transmitter. This was a very reassuring test that I conducted in poor visibility, under a thermalcline and in a .5 to 1 knot current.… Thanks again and congratulations for putting this excellent product out for divers to find their way home.-à Underwater navigation took a giant leap forward in August, 2001 with the shipping of XIOS new EYESEA Sport diving navigation system. Every diver regardless of skill level should pause and consider the impact and use of this new dive gear.

I was very happy with the performance of the unit and I would like to order two more …. I will tried this out on our local wrecks where we have very limited visibility … where one needs as accurate distance measurement as possible from the receiver to the transmitter.

I must say it is a pretty impressive unit and much more advanced than similiar units on the market.I was a little skeptical that it would work as claimed but after the first dive, those fears were put to rest. I was very impressed that the display for distance was pretty accurate.
